30 de jan. de 2024 · Jakob 'the Rich' Fugger and his family were bankers and merchants who controlled much of Europe's economy in the 15th and 16th centuries. One of Europe's wealthiest families, the Fuggers created kings, gave life to cities and led to a split within the Church.
These include, alongside Jakob Fugger the Elder, his sons Ulrich, Georg and Jakob the Rich. With the Fugger foundations, the three brothers created something that has lasted for centuries. Anton Fugger, a son of Georg Fugger, was also instrumental in starting the Fugger tradition of beneficence.
