Rachel Marjorie Joan Whetstone (born 22 February 1968) is a British public relations executive. Whetstone was in charge of communications and public policy for Google for nearly 10 years. She was senior vice-president of communications and public policy for Uber until April 2017.
Rachel Whetstone was named CCO of Netflix in August 2018. She has nearly 20 years experience working on communications and policy issues for US technology companies. Rachel joined Google in 2005 and served as Senior Vice President of Communications & Public Policy from 2011 to 2015.
Rachel Whetstone is red-haired, whippet-thin and speaks ‘at a hundred miles an hour’. She’s mostly to be found in skinny jeans, Converse sneakers and a simple gold chain, and rarely brushes her hair – unusual even in Silicon Valley – but this has not held her back in her extraordinary career.
