Robert Norman Waddell ONZM (born 7 January 1975) is a New Zealand Olympic Gold Medalist and double World Champion Single sculler rower, and America's Cup yachtsman. He is a triple New Zealand Supreme 'Halberg Awards' Sportsperson of the year winner, 1998 to 2000.
Rob Waddell won the single sculls gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, after claiming two world titles and a bronze at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. He was a dominant and versatile rower who overcame a heart condition and learned Japanese and judo in his youth.
