Frederick Wayman "Duke" Slater (December 9, 1898 – August 14, 1966) was an American football player and judge. He was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951 and was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Centennial Class in 2020. Slater played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1918 to 1921.
Duke Slater was a pro football pioneer and a two-way lineman who played for three teams from 1922 to 1931. He blocked for Hall of Famers, scored a touchdown, graduated from law school and became a judge.

Slater played pro football with the Chicago Cardinals until 1931. In the off-season he returned to the University of Iowa and obtained a law degree. He was one of five starters on the 1921 Iowa team who became lawyers.
