Competing as a senior, Zhou won the silver medal at the U.S. Championships in January 2017. The following month, he stood on his first senior international podium, taking gold at the Bavarian Open. In March, he won the gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championships.

Vincent Zhou, a U.S. figure skater, defied the odds to claim his first Grand Prix gold medal at Skate America in Las Vegas. He beat his teammates Nathan Chen and Uno Shoma, who finished second and third respectively, while Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov won the pairs event.
