Charles Wreford-Brown (9 October 1866 – 26 November 1951) was an English sportsman. He captained the England national football team and was a county cricketer during the Victorian age, and later acted as a sports legislator during the 20th century.

At the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics, Wreford-Brown was one of the British officials for the football competition and was a linesman in the Belgium – Netherlands semi-final and also the final between Belgium and Czechoslovakia. Wreford-Brown was also one of Britain’s best amateur chess players.

Biography of Charles Wreford-Brown. Charles Wreford-Brown was born in Bristol on 9th October 1866. He was educated at Charterhouse School and at this time public schools were pioneering the game of football. He was a talented sportsman and played football and cricket for Oxford University.
