  2. Franz Klammer (born 3 December 1953) is a former champion alpine ski racer from Austria. Klammer dominated the downhill event for four consecutive World Cup seasons ( 1975 – 78 ). He was the gold medalist at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , winning the downhill at Patscherkofel by a margin of 0.33 seconds with a time of 1:45.73.
