Sekka is widely known among science fiction fans for his role as Dr. Benjamin Kyle in the television series Babylon 5's pilot movie, The Gathering (1993). Recurring health problems forced him to decline a future role in the series, and ultimately were the reason he retired from acting altogether.
Johnny Sekka was a Senegalese-born actor who appeared in The Message, Babylon 5 and The Avengers. He died in 2006 in California after a long career in theater and TV.

Johnny Sekka will be remembered in a funeral service at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on Saturday, September 23. The service will be held in the Old North Church at 12:30 PM.
