Mollie Sugden. Actress. 20 July 1922 to 30 June 2009. Best-known as Mrs Slocombe in the sitcom Are You Being Served? (1972-85), Sugden reprised the character for a 1977 feature and a subsequent series in 1992. Other roles came in The Liver Birds (1971-96), Come Back Mrs Noah (1977-78), That’s My Boy (1981-86) and My Husband And I (1987-88).
