He did not attend the grammar school but Bainbridge's commercial academy in St Michael's Lane before training as a teacher. His father was the first Curator of the Mechanics’ Institute. George Boole gave many lectures and was an "instructor" for mathematics.

In 1828, Boole entered Bainbridge’s Commercial Academy in Fish Hill, Lincoln. A commercial school was the most his parents could afford but, rather than accept its limitations, George forged ahead with his Latin, Greek and algebra, and taught himself French, German and later Italian.

Since in 1831, the business of his father was ruined, George Boole become the main provider for his family.
Age 14, began attending Bainbridge Commercial Academy Learned French as well as English while studying at the academy Last of formal education; after leaving, began self study Age 16, Boole took job as "usher" (assistant teacher) to help support his parents Boole's house, which still stands to this day, in Cork, Ireland
