20 de out. de 2016 · John More: 1509-1547. John was the youngest of More’s children with Jane Colt and his only son. It appears that John was named at Thomas More’s father, John More. In 1527, John became betrothed to his father’s ward, Anne Cresacre.
Sir John More (c.1451 – 1530) was a respected judge, and Thomas More’s father. He was described by one of his son’s biographers as ‘very virtuous’ and ‘merry’. In the painting, he is shown listening to Margaret Giggs, who leans towards him to point out something in the book she is holding.
