Cheoljong (Korean: 철종; Hanja: 哲宗; 25 July 1831 – 16 January 1864), personal name Yi Won-beom (이원범; 李元範), later Yi Byeon (이변; 李昪), was the 25th monarch of the Joseon dynasty of Korea.
King Cheoljong (1831 - 1863) (r. 1849-1863) was the 25th king of the Korean Joseon Dynasty. Cheoljong was only a very distant relative of his predecessor, King Heonjong, and was living far away from the court and the capitol, uneducated and working as a farmer on Ganghwa Island.
King Cheoljong of Joseon, the 25th monarch, reigned from 1852 until his death in 1864. Born in 1831, he was the grandson of King Sunjo. His father, Crown Prince Hyomyeong, posthumously known as Munjo of Joseon, died before ascending the throne.
Queen Cheorin (Korean: 철인왕후; Hanja: 哲仁王后; 27 April 1837 – 12 June 1878), of the Andong Kim clan, was queen consort of Joseon by marriage to King Cheoljong. She was known as Queen Dowager Myeongsun (명순대비) after the death of her husband and during King Gojong's reign.

Cheoljong, personal name Yi Won-beom, later Yi Byeon, was the 25th monarch of the Joseon dynasty of Korea. After King Heonjong died without any descendants in 1849, Queen Sunwon chose Cheoljong, aged 19, to ascend to the throne, adopting him as the heir of her late husband, King Sunjo.
