The Black-Foxe Military Institute was a private school in Hollywood, California, USA. It was located adjacent to the Wilshire Country Club to the west and south and the Los Angeles Tennis Club to the east.
The Black-Foxe Military Institute was a private, all-male military and boarding school, serving students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, in Los Angeles, California. The school was founded in 1929 by the real estate tycoon Charles E. Toberman and Majors Earle Foxe and Harry Lee Black.

Sydney Earl Chaplin was born March 30th, 1926. He was variously educated at the Black-Foxe military institute, Lawrenceville preparatory school, New Jersey, and North Hollywood high; and did war service in the 65th Infantry Division.

Wilder claims that he was the victim of anti-Semitic bullying and sexual assault from other students because he was the only Jewish child attending the school at the time.
