Richard Grenville-Temple, 2nd Earl Temple, KG, PC (26 September 1711 – 12 September 1779), was a British politician. He is best known for his association with his brother-in-law William Pitt with whom he served in government during Britain's participation in the Seven Years War between 1756 and 1761.

Richard Grenville-Temple, 2nd Earl Temple. (1711-1779), Statesman. Mid-Georgian Portraits Catalogue Entry. Sitter in 16 portraits. Grenville-Temple entered Parliament as an MP in 1734. In 1754, his sister Hester married William Pitt, and from that time, Temple's career was linked with that of his brother-in-law.
Background and education. Born at Stowe House, Buckinghamshire, Buckingham was the son of the Earl Temple (later created The 1st Duke of Buckingham and Chandos) and Lady Anne, daughter of The 3rd Duke of Chandos. He was a paternal grandson of The 1st Marquess of Buckingham and a great-grandson of Prime Minister George Grenville.
