Anthony Richard Hurd, Baron Hurd (2 May 1901 – 12 February 1966) was a British politician and former Conservative Member of Parliament for Newbury.
Lord Anthony Hurd So far as he was concerned the Argentine claim to the islands was ridiculous and irrelevant to the actual life of the Islanders. He was created a life peer (Baron Hurd of Newbury) in 1964, and died of a heart attack on holiday in Antigua on 12 February 1966.

Douglas Hurd was born on 8 March 1930, eldest son of Anthony, Baron Hurd (who died in 1966) and Stephanie Corner (who died in 1985). He was educated at Eton, where he was a King’s Scholar and Newcastle Scholar and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he was a Major Scholar and also President of the Cambridge Union in 1952.
