Snakebite is the first official release by the British hard rock band Whitesnake. The original EP initially featured only four tracks and was released in the UK in June 1978 and never published in the US.

White Snake is the first solo album by David Coverdale, released in May 1977. Coverdale would use the album title as the name of his future band, first known as "David Coverdale's Whitesnake" and soon afterwards shortened to Whitesnake.
Produced by Roger Glover, they were recorded with different musicians, apart from the faithful Micky Moody. We'll end the presentations by pointing out the presence of Martin Birch behind the controls for the first 4 tracks, which is a change from his many legendary productions for Iron Maiden.
Roger Glover produced and contributed some bass, with Moody on guitar, plus session musicians Lisle Harper on bass and Simon Phillips on drums. The album ‘Whitesnake', which included some tracks originally written for Deep Purple’s follow-up to ‘Come Taste The Band’, proved an introspective and under-worked collection of material.
