Ronald Ray Cyrus (July 10, 1935 – February 28, 2006) was an American politician and public servant in Greenup County, Kentucky. A member of the Democratic Party , he was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives for 11 consecutive terms, from 1975 until he retired in 1996.

Billy Ray Cyrus [2] was born on August 25, 1961, in Flatwoods, Kentucky, to Ron Cyrus, a steelworker who became a politician, [19] and his wife, the former Ruth Ann Casto. [20] [21] Cyrus started singing at the age of four. His parents divorced in 1966. His grandfather was a Pentecostal preacher.
