One ovation followed another, then the orchestra spontaneously played God save the King, and the 7,000-strong audience rose to its feet: ‘most stirring & affecting, proud to be English’,
27 de jul. de 2006 · This recording of the Enigma Variations is the best I've ever heard. It alternately combines subtlety with panache. Each of the variations is fully characterized, and Menuhin is equally at home in the rapt, quiet music as he is in the more rambunctious portions.
