Carlos Antonio Giménez (/ h i ˈ m ɛ n ɛ z / hee-MEH-nez; born January 17, 1954) is a Cuban-born American politician and retired firefighter serving as the U.S. representative for Florida's 28th congressional district. He was redistricted from Florida's 26th congressional district.
First elected to Congress in 2020, he serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the Homeland Security Committee, and the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the US & the Chinese Communist Party. He is the first career firefighter to ever serve in Congress. More About Carlos.

As Miami-Dade Mayor, Gimenez is the highest-ranking elected official and chief administrator of Florida’s largest county. He was elected Mayor of Miami-Dade, Florida’s largest county, in a 2011 special election and re-elected in 2012 and 2016.
