On 28th June 1972, the Command and Organizing Faculty in Vyškov was transformed into Military University of Ground Forces of Captain Otakar Jaroš. The command of the university was given to Colonel František Herodek. On 31st October 1972, Major-General Jozef Jurík took over the command.
This is this year’s first group, which is doing its training at the Training Command – Military Academy in Vyškov. Among the candidates, there is also a city mayor of Frýdek-Místek, Michal Pobucký, whose interest in the Active Reserve has been sparked by the security situation in Europe. Read more.
After World War II, the Tank Training Institution gradually came into existence, which was later followed by the Military School, the Higher Military School, and the Faculty of Command and Organizing, which was ended in 1972 when the Military University of Ground Forces was opened in Vyškov.
Established as of 1 September 2004, it was formed by merging three institutions: Military Academy Brno (established in 1951), the Military University of the Ground Forces Vyškov (established in 1947) and the Military Medical Academy Hradec Králové (re-established in 1988).
in Hradec Králové and the Ground Forces Military University was stationed in Vyškov. This issue was solved via compromise. The Ground Forces Military University was transferred to Brno, while the Medical Academy remained in Hradec Králové; as a result, the University of Defence has its headquarters
The University of Defence was formed by merging the Military University of the Ground Forces Vyškov, Military Academy Brno and the Military Medical Academy Hradec Králové. 2. Erasmus. University of Defense in Brno fulfilled the condition for being involved into Erasmus Programme in November 2007.
