Skyy was formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1977. [2] The original line-up consisted of sisters Denise, Delores, and Bonny Dunning as vocalists, with guitarists Solomon Roberts and Anibal Anthony Sierra, keyboardist Larry Greenberg, bassist Gerald Lebon, and drummer Tommy McConnell.
In 1976, the sisters joined Solomon Roberts, Jr., Anibal Boochie Sierra and Gerald LeBon, and officially formed the band SKYY. The band achieved top-20 position on the Billboard R&B charts with several of their albums and singles.
By 1976, the Skyy lineup of the three Dunning sisters as vocalists, Roberts as the male vocalist/guitarist, Anibal Anthony Sierra on guitars and keyboards, Larry Greenberg on keyboards, Gerald Lebon on bass, and Tommy McConnell on drums had solidified.
Skyy Line is the fourth album by New York City based group Skyy released in 1981 on Salsoul Records .

Today we say a sad goodbye to the great Tommy McConnell, drummer and songwriter for the classic R&B band Skyy. McConnell was known for his prowess with both the sticks and the pen, and he wrote several of the group's greatest songs -- including the one that brought Skyy back to #1 after rough times.
