In 2022, the Arc Angels reformed for a small tour of the southern United States. In 2023, Bramhall took part in a tribute concert to Jeff Beck over two nights (May 22 and 23) at the Royal Albert Hall alongside Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Gary Clark Jnr, Joss Stone and many others.

After I was finally able to listen to the CD (it didn't play on my CD player due to the copy-protection!) I have been absolutely delighted with "Sessions for Robert J". It is everything that "Me and Mr Johnson" wasn't: raw, painful, edgy and gritty. The DVD is particularly stunning.
Filmed during tour rehearsals in London and Dallas plus a Los Angeles hotel room and the Dallas warehouse where Johnson made some of his final recordings, Sessions for Robert J finds Clapton performing all Robert Johnson songs with his touring band, acoustically with Doyle Bramhall II and solo-as well as discussing Johnson and his influence.
Bramhall performed ace axe lines on Clapton’s 2004 Robert Johnson tribute albums, Me and Mr. Johnson and Sessions for Robert J, and his own songs were woven into records such as Reptile (2001), Back Home (2004) and The Road to Escondito (2005). Eventually, Bramhall graduated to co-producer on the albums Clapton (2010) and Old Sock (2013).
