The Family is a band formed by Prince, and one of the first signed to Prince's record label, Paisley Park Records. The band reformed as fDeluxe in 2011. This band should not be confused with a 1970s Minneapolis R&B band of the same name.

Their style has been characterised as progressive rock, as their sound often explored other genres, incorporating elements of styles such as folk, psychedelia, acid rock, jazz fusion, and rock and roll.

The Family was a pop group formed in 1985 by Prince featuring friends and collaborators, including lead vocalists Susannah Melvoin and St. Paul Peterson. The band released one.
Funk band. Based in Minneapolis, formed by Prince, utilizing former members of The Time without founding members Morris Day and Jesse Johnson, both of whom had formed solo careers at that time, and adding Susannah Melvoin, twin sister to Prince And The Revolution guitarist Wendy Melvoin.
