  3. The feminist theologian Elisabeth Moltmann-Wendel passed away shortly before her 90th anniversary, on 7 June 2016. Born in Herne in 1926 and grown up in Potsdam, she was ecclesiastically shaped by the Bekennende Kirche (Confessing Church). She did her doctorate in 1951, and married the theologian Jürgen Moltmann in 1952.
