Voodoo Soup is a posthumous compilation album by American rock musician Jimi Hendrix, released in the United States on April 11, 1995, by MCA Records. It was one of the last Hendrix albums produced by Alan Douglas, who was also responsible for the posthumous Hendrix releases Midnight Lightning and Crash Landing in 1975.

David Noel Redding (25 December 1945 – 11 May 2003) was an English rock musician, best known as the bass player for the Jimi Hendrix Experience and guitarist/singer for Fat Mattress.

The extensive sessions for Electric Ladyland had been a reason for Chas Chandler to quit his role of producer, and also soured Hendrix's relation with bass player Noel Redding. Redding eventually quit the band at the end of June 1969.

2 de out. de 2020 · Noel anchored the Experience on their three watershed studio sides Are You Experienced (1967), Axis Bold as Love (1967), and Electric Ladyland (1969). Note that Ladyland also featured Jefferson Airplane bassist Jack Casady (“Voodoo Chile”) – who was considered a possible successor to Redding.
