  6. Custodial History. The school opened in 1874 as the first Catholic school in Kirkintilloch. In 1919 it was transferred to the management of the new Dunbartonshire Education Authority. Pupils came from Kirkintilloch and the surrounding villages of Croy, Twechar, and parts of Stirlingshire.
