Jedidiah Morse (born Aug. 23, 1761, Woodstock, Conn., U.S.—died June 9, 1826, New Haven, Conn.) was an American Congregational minister and geographer, who was the author of the first textbook on American geography published in the United States, Geography Made Easy (1784).

Jedidiah Morse (1761-1826) born in Woodstock, Connecticut, was a Congregational clergyman known as the "father of geography". After his graduation from Yale College in 1783, he entered the ministry. Licensed to preach in 1785, he was ordained a year later.
