Bethlehem Voortrekker High School is a public co-education dual medium High School situated in Wesweg, Bethlehem, South Africa. Voortrekker High School was founded in 1870 by the Dutch Reformed Church. It was reopened in 1902 after the Anglo Boer War under the leadership of Dr George Clark.
18 99 sees the start of the war between Great Britain and the Boer Republics. Towards the end of the war, in 1902, this school is founded as Bethlehem High School/Bethlehem Middelbare skool. The first principal was Dr George Clarke. In 1916 the first note of the school motto is made: NON SIBI SED PATRIAE.
Voortrekker High School was founded in 1934. It was the first Afrikaans high school in the southern suburbs. In 1992 it opened its doors to all learners, irrespective of creed, colour or culture.
Applications for Grade 1 – 12 may be made at any time during the year, but as the school is full at the start of each year, we will only be able to accept new learners if somebody leaves Riverwood College. This application form is for Grade 1 – 11. APPLY NOW.
