    Roger Ebert gave the movie a positive review of 3 out 4, and praised the humour and performances of the two teenaged leads, as well as the experienced performance of Robert Prosky, and said "The result is more entertaining than you might think." On Rotten Tomatoesthe film has a score of 60% based on reviews from 5 critics.
