Christopher John Cornell ( né Boyle; July 20, 1964 – May 18, 2017) was an American musician. He was best known as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and the primary lyricist for the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. He also had a solo career and contributed to numerous movie soundtracks.
Songs. Cornell collaborated with Alice in Chains and Mudhoney frontman Mark Arm under the name "Alice Mudgarden" on the song "Right Turn" for the 1992 EP Sap. Cornell performed additional vocals on two songs on Alice Cooper 's 1994 album The Last Temptation.
