  2. The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is an Australian educational institution for the performing arts based in Sydney, New South Wales. Founded in 1958, many of Australia's leading actors and directors trained at NIDA, including Cate Blanchett, Sarah Snook, Mel Gibson, Judy Davis and Baz Luhrmann.

Evaluate and interrogate texts, objects, and other materials from both national and international sources to stimulate the imagination as part of their creative artistic practice.

  7. NIDA is founded as the first professional theatre training school in Australia, being originally established in the grounds of the University of New South Wales with the support of then Vice-Chancellor (later Sir) Philip Baxter.
