Owain ap Gruffydd (c. 1354 – c. 1415), commonly known as Owain Glyndŵr or Glyn Dŵr (pronounced [ˈoʊain ɡlɨ̞nˈduːr], anglicised as Owen Glendower), was a Welsh leader, soldier and military commander in the Late Middle Ages, who led a 15-year-long revolt with the aim of ending English rule in Wales.

Há 3 dias · Owain Glyn Dwr (or Owen Glendower) was a Welsh nobleman who led a revolt against the English crown from 1400 to 1409. He proclaimed himself prince of Wales and fought several battles against the English, but was eventually defeated and went into hiding.
A victory in the Plynlimmon region over royal forces gathered there encouraged a successful appeal to the men of west Wales to join 'in liberating the Welsh race from the bondage of their English enemies.'
