Herman, Margrave of Brandenburg, also known as Herman the Tall (c. 1275 – 1 February 1308), a member of the House of Ascania, was Margrave and co-ruler of Brandenburg with his cousin Margrave Otto IV of Brandenburg-Stendal.
When Herman Margrave of Brandenburg-Salzwedel Ascania was born in 1275, in Brandenburg, Prussia, Germany, his father, Otto von Brandenburg-Salzwedel IV or V Margraf, was 29 and his mother, Judith of Henneberg-Coburg, was 28. He married Anna of Austria, Margravine of Brandenburg Habsburg in 1295.
15 de ago. de 2024 · Herman was the son of Margrave Otto V of Brandenburg-Salzwedel and his wife Judith, daughter of the Franconian count Herman I of Henneberg. In 1299, he succeeded his father as co-regent of Brandenburg, which he ruled jointly with his cousin Otto IV.

Herman, Margrave of Brandenburg, also known as Herman the Tall ( c. 1275 – 1 February 1308), a member of the House of Ascania, was Margrave and co-ruler of Brandenburg with his cousin Margrave Otto IV of Brandenburg-Stendal.
The titles of Margrave of Brandenburg and Elector of Brandenburg were abolished along with the Holy Roman Empire in 1806, and Brandenburg was formally integrated into Prussia. Despite this, the Prussian kings still included the title "Margrave of Brandenburg" in their royal style.
Anna first married in 1295 in Graz. Her husband was Herman, Margrave of Brandenburg-Salzwedel. They had four children: Jutta of Brandenburg (1297–1353), heiress of Coburg, married to Count Henry VIII of Henneberg. John (1302–1317), succeeded his father, but died young. Matilde of Brandenburg (died 1323) married Henry IV the Faithful.
