The "Angel of Shavano" is a snow feature that resembles an angel - 1 and 2. It's located in the center of Shavano's southeast slopes and frequently used as a spring snow climb. In some years, you may find continuous snow from the angel to the summit.
Angel of Shavano Campground. The Angel of Shavano Campground is ideally suited for tent camping. The campsites are wooded with aspen and spruce trees along the north fork of the south Arkansas River. The Angel of Shavano Trailhead for the Colorado Trail #1776 is across the road from the campground.

Explore Angel of Shavano in PSICC, Colorado with Recreation.gov. This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site.
It is a fun, easy snow climb which steadily climbs up Shavano at a constant 30-35 degree slope. As you climb, the view of the Arkansas River Valley behind you improves and the Sangres begin to dominant your southern panaroma. Continue up the body of the Angel to 12,900-13,000 feet where you intersect with the Angel's arms and its head.
13 de set. de 2017 · Took Angel of Shavano snow route to summit Mt Shavano. The bushwhack after leaving standard trail was more challenging than I expected due to numerous downed trees. Summit was windless and the views were gorgeous. The glissade down the Angel was super fun
