Kyushu Tokai University (九州東海大学, Kyūshū tōkai daigaku) was a private university in Kumamoto, Kumamoto, Japan. The school was established in 1964 as a junior college and became a four-year college (School of Engineering) in 1973.

Tokai University is a private university established by Dr. Shigeyoshi Matsumae in1942. “Tokai” of “Tokai University” refers to the sea to the east of Asia, namely the Pacific Ocean, and symbolizes the desire to foster rich spirits and broad perspectives.
Five of the campuses are on the central island of Honshu, which is home to the Japanese capital Tokyo, while two campuses are on the island of Hokkaido and the other is on Kyushu. There are 21 undergraduate schools at Tokai and all courses at this level are taught in Japanese.
