Walk the Moon (stylized as WALK THE MOON) is an American pop rock band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. [5] Lead singer Nicholas Petricca started the band in 2006, while a student at Kenyon College, deriving the band's name from the song "Walking on the Moon" by The Police. [6]

Song history. "Anna Sun" was written by lead vocalist Nicholas Petricca and New York-based singer/songwriter Nick Lerangis, along with the help of their 8-year-old neighbor Jake Young. The song is named after their professor ( see here and here) from Kenyon College (who now teaches at Duke University) and is meant to symbolize youth.

17 de nov. de 2023 · When forming the band in 2006, frontman Nicholas Petricca settled on WALK THE MOON in reverence to The Police hit “Walking on the Moon.” He soon brought in guitarist Nick Lerangis, bassist Adam Reifsnyder, and drummer Adrian Galvin, and the band self-released their 2010 debut album, I Want! I Want!.
