Raoul Bardac (30 March 1881 – 30 July 1950) was a French classical composer and pianist.

14 de jul. de 2016 · The scandal may have begun in 1901 when a young man named Raoul Bardac began studying composition with Debussy. Raou’ls mother, Emma, was the wife of a wealthy banker and was well-known in Paris society for her charm and her interest in the arts, music in particular.

In retrospect Raoul Bardac dated the initial stages of Debussy's cancer to January 1909, when the symptoms were deceptively benign. The doctor advised him to exercise, keep active, not sit for too long, but Debussy, determinedly sedentary, virtually ignored this.
7 de out. de 2022 · Stirrings of patriotism fuelled a longing to return to ‘la clarté française’. Raoul Bardac believed it was Debussy's determination not to let his illness beat him that led to his desire to contribute in his own way to the war effort by re-creating truly French music.
When war was declared by Germany, he wrote to Durand of his deep dismay: Raoul Bardac and Dolly's husband had been conscripted into military service, and he almost envied Satie, “who will have an important job defending Paris in his capacity as corporal.”
