Ed Thrasher. Edward Lee Thrasher Jr. (March 7, 1932 – August 5, 2006), known as Ed Thrasher, was an American art director and photographer. Ed Thrasher began his career as art director for Capitol Records. He then worked as art director for Warner Bros. Records from 1964 to 1979. He assembled hundreds of projects, from Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced" to The Doobie Brothers' "Toulouse Street".
Ed Thrasher was an art director and photographer who created iconic covers for Jimi Hendrix, Frank Sinatra and the Beach Boys. He also won a Grammy for best package design and worked with A. Quincy Jones on the Warner Brothers Records building.
