In the aftermath of the feud, the nobles regrouped and healed the rifts the usual way, through inter-marriage. One of the most powerful among the Danish nobility in Skåne at this time was the Bille family, who were tied through blood relations to seven of the eight Catholic bishops of Denmark.
Claus Bille var en dansk adelsmann, dansk og norsk riksråd. Han deltok i Christian 2s kamp mot Sverige og ble ridder i 1520. Av Frederik 1 fikk han i 1528 Båhus slott i forlening. I 1532 brakte Bille Norge tilbake til foreningen med Danmark, etter at Christian 2 i 1531 hadde latt seg hylle der.

Claus Bille (ca. 1490 – 4 January 1558 at Lyngsgård , Scania) was a Danish statesman. He was a major estate owner, knight (the highest rank of Danish nobility), fief lord of Båhus Castle and a member of both the Norwegian and the Danish Councils of the Realm.
