22 de mar. de 2022 · Pro's: huge cost savings from developing the engine and maintaining it. less buggy, the RED engine caused development hell for CDPR in the development of Cyberpunk 2077. Cons: read somewhere that nanite does not work well with organic environments, but better with rocks etc. Does not really fit in the Witcher universe.

According to BioWare, one of the reasons Andromeda didn’t turn out as good as they wanted was because EA’s propriety engine just isn’t as well suited to making RPG’s, whereas Unreal Engine (which was used for ME 1-3) is quite good for making RPGs. 28 de set. de 2022 · RED Engine, like any proprietary engine, is specialized. It’s basically impossible to compete with something as established and developed as Unreal, and CDPR knew that. Their engine work focused increasingly on developing frameworks that would improve the narrative aspect of their games, and it shows in its animation systems.

They said it was extremely hard to work with and they weren't able to fix issues in cyberpunk because engine wasn't designed for this kind of games. Anyway, I'm not huge fan of ue5 gang but it seems everyone is going that way so.. 4.
