Based very loosely on the "Mowgli" stories from Rudyard Kipling's 1894 book of the same title, it is the final animated feature film to be produced by Walt Disney, who died during its production.
I just finished rewatching The Jungle Book 2, and one point in the movie really confused me. It was after Mowgli got in trouble for almost leading the other kids from the village into the jungle. His adoptive father, who was the leader of the village, scolded him and said that it wasn't safe in the jungle for him.
