Noldor do the defending for you. To be fair, as long as you have made friends with enough martial lords, you can get quite the kingdom going, so long as you are good at field battles and/or kiting spawns. If you are starting out, having a unique spawn to lead around can work wonders. Also, any strong spawn will do.
They may declare war again later, but it won't reopen the quest. Once it's done, it's done. Just focus on another quest and let your vassals defend what they can. Don't worry if another quest reaches -100 while you're taking care of one opponent, it won't end in a failure. You'll just have to work to get it to +100 later.
