Sounds like he had a hard time on Nameless King and got upset when people told him to Git Gud. So upset that he went and made a video talking about it.
A lot of the ambient music made for Fallout 1 & 2 were based on Tim Cain's personal music collection. Most of the desert sounding stuff comes straight off of Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works Vol II," but certain tracks from Synaesthesia and Brian Eno are also slightly altered.
