The Mod Squad is an American crime drama series, originally broadcast for five seasons on ABC from September 24, 1968, to March 1, 1973. It starred Michael Cole as Peter "Pete" Cochran, Clarence Williams III as Lincoln "Linc" Hayes, Peggy Lipton as Julie Barnes, and Tige Andrews as Captain Adam Greer.

The Mod Squad was created from the true experiences of creator Bud Ruskin, a former police officer and later private detective. While a member of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department in the 1950s, he was part of an undercover narcotics squad made up of young officers, which served as the inspiration for the series.
