John Herschel Glenn Jr. (Cambridge, 18 de julho de 1921 – Columbus, 8 de dezembro de 2016) foi um engenheiro, aviador naval, piloto de teste, astronauta e político norte-americano. (Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first person in space, had made a single orbit of Earth in 1961.) Glenn joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1942.
