In contrast, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (better known as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) own no land in that valuable county. Nor are they playing much of a part in the coronation.

The lady was previously countess of Sussex, and a letter written under that signature in 1537 has been published in Miss Wood's Letters of Royal and Illustrious Ladies, vol. ii. p. 306.

The parish stretches from south-west to north-east for about 2½ miles. Its shape is approximately a rhombus, its greatest width being about 1½ miles.
