Over a hundred years later, we found ourselves gathered in a classroom in western Sydney where we were contemplating how our lived experiences intersected with places, with rights, and with inequities.

Those breathing in the cold air at Kurrumbede earlier in the month looked out on the land and possibly understood what Dorothea Mackellar felt when she wrote about the “flood and fire and famine”.
Há 2 dias · Dorothea was the third of four children born to Dr Charles Mackellar and his wife Marion. Dorothea had two older brothers, Keith and Eric, and a younger brother, Malcolm. In writing this biography, Ms Fitzgerald was able to draw on the Mackellar Papers held at the Mitchell Library which included Ms McKellar’s diaries from 1907.

However, the singer thinks she was happier before when they were teenagers. "Marjorie" is dedicated to Talyor's grandmother, opera singer Marjorie Finlay, who died when Taylor was young.
