Mostyn House School was a school that was originally opened in Tarvin by Edward Henry Price, and moved to Parkgate, Cheshire, in 1855. From 1862 until it closed in 2010, [2] it was run by the Grenfell family, originally as a boys' boarding school, and latterly as a co-educational day school.

Mostyn House School’s iconic building, which dominates a stretch along the Parkgate front, closed last July - not just for a brief summer break, the historic school had closed for good. Many items from the school have been sold at auction and today the black and white building stands empty, its future uncertain.
Mostyn House School has been an icon on the main street of Parkgate for over 150 years. After it closed in 2010 the building fell into disrepair, with the roof structure on one building becoming so dangerous it needed propping, closing half of the main road.
