The site on which the School stands is of great historical interest as both the parkland and woodland are mentioned in the Domesday Book: “Robert of Romney also holds Benenden [Benendine] from the Bishop of Bayeux”. Benenden had become sufficiently permanent by 1086 to have both a name and a church. Benenden became a Charitable Foundation.

Salary range £40-£43,513 per annum dependent upon qualifications and experience. From September 2025, the School will be establishing a boarding house dedicated to its two youngest year groups, at the same time as opening a university-style ‘penthouse’ floor for Sixth Formers.
