13 de mai. de 2013 · Ted Hughes faleceu em 28 de outubro de 1998, aos 68 anos, de câncer, em Londres. Hughes, morreu ao final de uma batalha de um ano e meio contra o câncer. A última aparição de Hughes em público foi em 15 de outubro, quando recebeu a Ordem do Mérito, uma grande honraria, da rainha Elizabeth II, no Palácio de Buckingham.
